Ali, a young soul, full of life, with passion and dreams as vast as the sky above is suffering from the deadly disease of Hemophilia. His love for football and flying kites knows no boundaries. However, his disease does not allow him to run around freely with any fear, a challenge he faces every day, a condition that makes his blood unable to clot properly. Ali longs to live his life without extra caution and care, without ensuring the necessary precautions to protect him from injury. His love for football is a part of his soul. Every day he sees children of his age play and run but is unable to be a part of the rough tackles and physical challenges of the game. Every fall leads to the rush to hospitals, injections and treatments.

Ali while being aware of his family’s financial struggles feels guilty for any sort of treatment cost burden implied on his parents. Ali’s parents have been living in constant worry and misery about their child’s safety, whether at home or at school. Although Ali loves to play, it becomes extremely challenging for his parents to stop him from playing as he may fall leading to non-stop bleeding or cutting his fingers. Additionally, after a long day of playing and running, Ali gets exhausted and experiences big bruises on his knees that need to be treated immediately. He also suffers from severe joint pain, which further complicates his situation. Often, hemophilic patients undergo knee replacement surgeries or, in some cases, are permanently disabled.

Despite the difficulties, Ali’s parents want their child to attend school for his education. However, they are always fearful that something might happen to him. Often, an incident occurs, which makes the family rush to hospitals for immediate treatment. Even a traffic jam can be life-threatening in such situations. Sometimes, due to the unavailability of the blood or required factor (for emergency treatment) in that area’s hospital, they have to travel to Islamabad hospital, which delays the emergency treatment required for the child. The process is not only painful for the family but also for Ali, who becomes exhausted and frustrated.

Seeing Ali’s life, his inability to attend school, his every day pain; his parents just pray for a miracle to happen to their precious child. The best care and treatment that the parents want is the advanced Prophylaxis treatment that can enable Ali to play without the fear of negligible injuries, which are life-threatening for this little soul. The annual expense of treatment for Ali is estimated to be 2.5 to 4 million Pakistani rupees [9000 USD – 14000 USD]. The treatment will help his blood clot properly; saving his life, protecting him from disability, and helping him attend school regularly. Even though Ali realizes the challenges remained, his spirit and hopes are as high as his dreams.
